Scott unveiling Fla. budget plan at tea party bash

EUSTIS, Fla. -- Gov. Rick Scott will be breaking with usual practice in a couple ways when he unveils his first budget recommendations to the Legislature.
The Republican governor will present a two-year plan Monday rather than the annual version required by the Florida Constitution.
And, he'll do it first at a tea party rally in Eustis before flying nearly 200 miles back to Tallahassee for a traditional news conference at the Florida Capitol.
GOP-leaning tea party activists are expected to give a more favorable response to his proposals for slashing spending by $5 billion and cutting business and property taxes by more than $2 billion.
Leaders of the Republican-controlled Legislature say they don't see how the cash-strapped state can afford tax cuts.
